Subash Rajan is Sura Energy Drilling's Lead Trainer and a Senior Drilling and Plug & Abandonment (P&A) Supervisor. He brings 28 years of multinational onshore and offshore experience — most of them with Schlumberger (1996–2020), followed by supervisory roles for PETRONAS, Halliburton and SLB — and has delivered more than 100 courses and workshops.

He began his oilfield career in 1994 through the PETRONAS Apprentice Program at ILPP Batu Rakit (now INSTEP), later earning an HND in Mechatronics from Liverpool John Moores University, a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and Offshore Engineering from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, and a specialised certification in Plug and Abandonment from the University of Aberdeen.

His field career spans MWD/LWD and directional drilling services, real-time drilling support for up to 20 rigs across South East Asia and Australia, wellsite leadership for Saudi Aramco and QGC (Australia), and offshore drilling and P&A supervision for PETRONAS in Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia — including HPHT, PMCD, anti-collision and H₂S well environments.

As a trainer he is engaged by oil and gas companies and academies to deliver stuck pipe prevention, jar workshops, wellbore problems, hole cleaning and HPHT courses to rig crews on site and via virtual platforms — for Velesto Energy, Sapura Energy, PETRONAS, PETROS Sarawak, PTTEP Malaysia and international drilling contractors.

Today he coaches the next generation at Velesto Academy at INSTEP — the same institution where his own career began — and spoke to school leavers about energy-sector careers at the launch of TVET Negara 2026 2.0 in Putrajaya.

Papathy leads Sura Energy Drilling's daily operations, overseeing programme development, coordination and delivery, and prepares programmes, contracts and technical documentation.

She holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering (UTM) and a Master’s in Innovation and Engineering Design (UPM). Her drilling engineering experience with Schlumberger and ExxonMobil includes complex well planning, anti-collision analysis and casing and cementing programmes.

Better known as Stretch, Ratna brings over 45 years of oil and gas experience with particular expertise in casing operations and business development. He started as a rig hand and progressed through roles with various oilfield service companies.

At Sura Energy he advises on business strategy and technical preparation, particularly for casing operations.

Mr. Zamri brings 30 years of oilfield experience, including 15 years as a Senior Toolpusher, with a thorough understanding of offshore rig operations and crew responsibilities.

As Technical Advisor he develops and reviews training materials so lessons reflect actual field conditions, and mentors junior personnel. On rig moves he brings experienced oversight and an emphasis on thorough preparation.

Pok Cik progressed from Roustabout to Senior Driller after technical training at ILPP (now INSTEP), with field expertise covering rig-floor activities, equipment handling and crew coordination.

He later joined Velesto Drilling Academy as Land Rig Supervisor and Trainer, delivering more than 100 sessions at Naga 100. At Sura Energy he is a Senior Trainer, Technical Content Reviewer and Module Developer.

Gana brings more than 30 years of oilfield experience, including service as a Senior Driller and Toolpusher, with extensive knowledge of drilling operations and crew supervision.

He was directly involved in converting a jack-up drilling rig into a water injection unit. At Sura Energy he reviews technical content and develops modules, translating field lessons into practical training.

Mr. Wahab brings more than 20 years of hands-on oilfield experience, progressing through the operational ranks to Senior Driller, and has participated in numerous rig-down and rig-up operations.

He contributes to rig dismantling, relocation and reassembly, and reviews and refines Sura Energy’s technical training presentations.

Mr. Govindadas brings decades of oil and gas experience spanning offshore logistics, marine operations, supply chain management and supply base start-up, with assignments including PETRONAS Marine, PETRONAS Carigali, MRCB, White Nile Petroleum, Sumitomo Corporation, Murphy Oil and PTTEP.

Mr. Rahimee brings over 33 years of HSSE experience across oil and gas, marine, aviation, construction, mining and military operations, including senior HSE roles with PETRONAS Carigali in Malaysia and Iraq, and Qatar Petroleum.

An HRD Corp-accredited trainer and DOSH-certified Safety Officer, he served on the Board of NIOSH Malaysia from 2022 to 2024.

Healthcare leader with over 40 years of experience. A certified mental health practitioner and HRD Corp trainer, with expertise in workplace mental health, first aid and corporate healthcare training.

Occupational health physician with over 20 years of experience in multinational oil and gas. Served as PETRONAS Occupational Health Custodian and Health Adviser from 2004 to 2024.

Mental health clinician with over 25 years of experience in mental health, forensic psychiatry and crisis management, specialising in behavioural management, coaching and workplace wellbeing.

Corporate leader and strategic consultant with over 50 years of experience. A Fellow Chartered Accountant and HRDF-certified trainer specialising in governance, leadership and organisational development.
